FIELD NOTES
Before the
first step.
Choose your pace
Tell us about your hiking experience and preferred level of challenge.
Pack for the conditions
Bring layers, weather protection, water and comfortable trail footwear.
Meet your guide
Review the route and conditions together before heading out.
Before you set outArrive ready to enjoy the day
You do not need a cupboard full of specialist equipment for every adventure. You do need clothing and footwear appropriate to the route and the expected conditions. Your guide confirms the final plan before departure.
What to bring
Comfortable trail footwear, warm layers, rain protection, sun protection, water and any personal items you normally need outdoors.
Choosing the right route
Tell us about your recent activity level and any concerns. Distance alone does not describe a trail: terrain, elevation and weather all affect the experience.
Weather & changes
Mountain conditions can change quickly. A guided itinerary should explain how route changes, postponements and guest communications are handled.
